Core DST support

TIDE has been awarded the core grant of the Department of Science and Technology (DST). TIDE uses the core grant to identify the science and technology needs of rural communities and demonstrates select technologies to the rural communities. Depending on the response, TIDE then looks for specific project funding to disseminate the technology.

Renewable energy

TIDE's work in the areas of energy conservation and renewable energy has resulted in an annual saving of about 30,000 tons of firewood and about 45,000 tons of CO2 emissions.

Women & livelihoods

TIDE works towards empowerment of women through technology adaptation by addressing their practical and productive needs while safe guarding their strategic interests.

Water & Environmental management

TIDE has designed and implemented rain water harvesting systems in more than twenty five places including large public utility areas like Bangalore Planetarium and school. iTIDE has devised solutions for efficient management of environmental resources.

Building local entrepreneurship

TIDE enables complete transfer of knowledge to local entrepreneurs for sustainability. TIDE entrepreneurs have had a total turnover of about 7 crores and earned profits of about 1 crore till date.
