"A Project to Demonstration of small scale renewable energy technologies"

Rural Hybrid Energy Enterprise Systems (RHEES)

This is a project carried out by a consortium of 7 partners led by Indian Institute of Science with a high level goal on Demonstration of small scale renewable energy technologies to mitigate energy poverty and stimulate rural development through community participation. TIDE’s role in the consortium includes establishing the baseline on socio-techno-economics of the identified villages, to identify potential energy linked livelihood opportunities and barriers for them, and pilot enterprise models.

The project is underway with a few villages shortlisted; TIDE team has done baseline surveys for these villages, shortlisted some enterprise opportunities and developed techno economics for them. We are also developing a database of villages in Karnataka where such energy linked enterprise models can work.
